Hi all, We booked CK shuttle door to door from Vienna to Cesky krumlov and was informed that Cesky Krumlov town hall decided that all traffic (except for local taxis) including the vehicles of long-distance transportation companies will not be allowed in the inner part of the historical center of the town between 10:30 am and 15:00 pm.
Two nights might be too much for Cesky Krumlov alone - it isn't that big. If you take the morning bus there from Prague and then the afternoon bus back the next day, that should be enough. One half-day for the center and another for the castle area.
How Long to Spend in Český Krumlov I would suggest planning to have at least 6-8 hours to explore Český Krumlov on a day-trip from Prague. It will take you from 2.5 – 3 hours one way to get to Český Krumlov so plan to start out in the morning, and arrive back to Prague around dinner.
Old Historic Town Walking through the historic town of Cesky Krumlov is probably how you’d want to spend the rest of your day after paying a visit to the castle. This part of the town is almost completely car-free. You can’t get your car in without a one-time valid permit. And even with a permit, you can only enter between 3 PM and 10:30 AM.
