Just figured i would post this up as i have been asked a few times on how to test if the vehicles key has an immobilizer chip inside it. Pretty simple, wrap the key in alluminum foil insert it into the ignition and try to start the vehicle. If the vehicle starts then your vehicle does not have an immobilizer. Souls newer than that have an immobilizer standard from the factory, which is good. But us with older Souls only get a “steering wheel locking device” that’s similar to The Club.
